NumWorks meets the requirements of the STAAR® calculator policy!
Use NumWorks on the following STAAR® exams:
- Grade 8 Science
- Grade 8 Mathematics
- Algebra 1
- Biology
Requirements for using NumWorks on STAAR® exams
To use your NumWorks on the STAAR® exams, you'll need to update your calculator and activate the STAAR exam mode.
The following features are turned off in STAAR exam mode:
- Inequality graphing
- Grapher details
- Implicit plots
- Simultaneous equation solver

The STAAR exam mode must be engaged immediately before the examination and continue for the duration of the examination. Enabling STAAR exam mode will clear the calculator of all memory, data, and unofficial applications. To clear the memory at the end of the exam, press the Reset button in Settings or on the back of the device.
